The Garbera Shopping Centre redevelopment expands the existing complex with new retail and commercial space.

Originally opened in 1997, the shopping centre underwent a major redevelopment to increase its floor area and accommodate new tenants. The project includes several reinforced concrete and steel-framed buildings for retail and service uses, together with new roof structures. Formed by optimised steel portal frames and trusses, some of the roofs span up to 30 metres. The development also includes a new two-level underground car park.

Working alongside Conscytec–Eiffage, Degree of Freedom provided structural engineering services throughout the Design & Build contract, from tender through to completion. Our involvement included the structural design of the new buildings, technical support during construction, and the development of the structural as-built BIM model.
