Located along the Akerselva in Oslo, the project brings together education, sports and public space, extending its role beyond school hours to become a meeting place for the surrounding neighbourhood.Its architecture is supported by a combination of structural systems and materials, with glulam and CLT across the teaching areas, steel trusses spanning the sports hall and reinforced concrete structures below ground.
Degree of Freedom provided structural and façade engineering from competition through preliminary and detailed design, as well as technical assistance during construction.
