Vilberg School is a primary school in Eidsvoll, Norway, designed to accommodate approximately 800 pupils together with a dedicated sports hall.
Covering around 8,800 m², the development brings together classrooms, sports facilities and shared spaces in a clear and intuitive layout that supports both wayfinding and the day-to-day operation of the school. Generous outdoor areas complement the building, providing spaces for education, recreation and community use. The superstructure is built in mass timber, with CLT walls, floors and roofs forming a key part of the project’s low-carbon design strategy.
Degree of Freedom was responsible for the structural engineering throughout the project, from the architectural competition and detailed design through to construction support.
