Quisi Bridge is a 370-metre-long railway bridge crossing the Quisi ravine in eastern Spain.
The new structure replaces a railway crossing that had been in service for more than a century with a continuous post-tensioned concrete box girder comprising eight spans: two 35-metre end spans and six 50-metre central spans. The deck is distinguished by its curved soffit and is supported by reinforced concrete piers with a variable geometry, carefully shaped to satisfy both the structural demands of the bridge and its integration into the surrounding landscape.
Degree of Freedom was responsible for the structural engineering during the concept, preliminary and detailed design phases. Our scope also included seismic analysis, construction sequencing, cost estimation, project documentation, project management, quality control and the development of a fully coordinated BIM model.
