{"id":2243,"date":"2026-07-22T13:58:45","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T13:58:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/freedom.degree\/projects\/samling\/"},"modified":"2026-07-22T13:58:45","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T13:58:45","slug":"samling","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/freedom.degree\/de\/projects\/samling\/","title":{"rendered":"Samling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samling is a mixed-use timber building in the centre of Sand, bringing together a public library, a bank and residential apartments under one roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Designed by Helen &amp; Hard following their competition-winning proposal, the project was recognised for the clarity of its architectural concept and the way three distinct functions are organised around the public library. Double-height spaces and exposed timber portal frames make the structural system a defining feature of the interior architecture, while the all-timber structural solution contributes to a substantial reduction in embodied carbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Degree of Freedom was responsible for the structural engineering during the preliminary and detailed design phases.
