Lambertseter Nursing Home is a residential care home developed for the Nordstrand district of Oslo.
The completed facility provides 130 resident rooms, a day care centre and a range of outdoor spaces designed for both residents and the local community. Developed in response to the City of Oslo’s ambitious environmental requirements, the project achieved BREEAM-NOR Excellent certification, delivers a positive energy balance and was constructed using a fossil fuel-free construction process. Green roofs, a sensory garden, terraces, and integrated solutions for rainwater management and renewable energy generation all contribute to creating a welcoming and sustainable environment for residents and visitors.
Degree of Freedom was responsible for the structural engineering throughout the project, from the architectural competition and concept design through to preliminary and detailed design. Our scope also included technical support during construction.
